I don't remember when I first saw a layout by Nichol Magouirk, but I do remember that I loved it! She has been one of my most favorite scrapbookers for a long, long time. Awhile back, we began emailing eachother and have become great friends!
She recently placed a Stampin' Up! order from me with lots of fun goodies inside! I had some of the same sets and so I mentioned that we should do a challenge together using some of the stamp sets. 'Creative Play' time - we were both totally up for it!
Challenges like this always make me so excited and so happy! I loved doing the 3 Product Challenges...I love taking product and thinking of fun ways to use it.
So, we chose two Stampin' Up! stamp sets:
Always Stamp Set
All Scallops Stamp Set
And the color scheme of aqua/yellow/green and this is what we both created:
So awesome! I love the 'layout' of her design, the three hearts and the awesome title with 'masking' with the bird. It looks so great! Don't you just love that bird - seriously!! My fav! And the scallops down the side of her page looks awesome! Can't ever get enough of those things!
Thanks for playing with me Nichol! I love ya girl! :) Be sure to check out her blog for more details on techniques and supplies for her awesome layout.
It was hard to get that scan coloring right! :) I had so much fun creating this layout! I LOVE STAMPING!!! I love how it can add so much to your layout - such little details that really make the layout 'your's'. Everyone can have the same papers and embellishments, but when you add stamping to your layout, it really makes it unique. I truly love it!
So, I wanted to show how this kinda feminine set, Always, can be used for boy pages too. And I played a lot with clear embossing powder - I wanted the stamping to support the photo, not overwhelm it so I embossed a lot of the images.
The stamped border on the left/blue by the title is actually a flower that I stamped half of it on the paper and embossed with clear embossing powder. Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig to do this is very helpful.
The bird is embossed as well and then cut out and mounted with pop-dots on the page.
I stamped the accent circles on the buttons with White StazOn Ink (another must-have favorite tool) and sewed the buttons to the page.
I stamped the accent circles on the page with Stampin' Up's! White Craft Ink - the best one that I have found for stamping on pages. So rich and vibrant! Love it!
I stamped all the scallops on the page with Versamark Ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder. Some are cut out and added to the page.
The circles on the right side of the photo are stamped with Versamark (a watermark ink).
There is also a heart image on the bottom yellow square stamped and embossed, but it's kinda hard to see in the main photo.
Fun to play! Fun to participate in a fun challenge with a great friend! Hope these samples inspire you! And, if you want to ever purchase Stampin' Up! products, I'd be happy to help you out - wherever you are.
Have a great weekend!
