Another little glimpse

I have been so super busy lately with creating for Hero Arts, Two Peas and for Scrapbooks, etc. magazine! I have some fun stuff coming up soon and I can't wait to share with you! Even my first video for Stamp Camp at Two Peas....yeah...be easy on me with that one! LOL! Lots more of those to come though as I'm learning how it all works.

Today....happy day! My hubby is home and off to a Daddy/Daughter Donut day at her school. Madisyn told me last night that there is a boy in her class that is bringing his Uncle, becuase his mom died. Madi asked why he doesn't bring his dad....he died too. So sad! So thankful for little blessing like a together family!

Today...my bestest friend, Amy, is coming over today to PLAY!! She is starting a blog soon - I keep telling her she needs to get going on it - but she's amazing! Just don't you all leave me and go to her blog okay! Hehee! We are creating some super fun things - so I'll have some fun photos to show you soon. So excited to just play today - it's been a busy and rough week with the kids and work - so I'm needing a metal play day! So glad that Amy has work off to come and do it with me - that's the best!

The picture is of my desk across from my work desk - tv, decorations and inspiration on the desk, 2 tier basket from Target with all my most used, single loved stamps, clock, my tower of clear trays that hold all my cardstock sorted by color, my Pottery Barn shelf, wire baskets from Land of Nod filled with adhesives and such, and my 'Store' buckets from Target that I have turned on the side so you don't see the 'store' word and have tied Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon from Stampin' Up! on them.

That cute 'Taste Life' Letterpress card and the mini 'I Love You' letterpress are from Paper Source Store. I found them in San Francisco and loved those sayings! :)

Lots of ribbon and fun in this new room! Cleaner look - I LOVE IT!

'Love you' Card

Just a quick card share today...I'm trying to get some assignments done so I'm working away in my scrapbook room! :) That's always fun though!

I made this card for my husband for our Anniversary this month. Lots of stamping. I was planning to cut out three large hearts and put them down the middle of the page. I stamped each heart and them cut them out into a rectangle just to help it be easier to trim around them. As they were all laying on the card, I loved how they looked. So...I went for a messier cluster of hearts and sayings. It was fun just going for it! :)

This card was also done with the 'Weekly Challenge' at Two Peas in mind. This weeks challenge, until Friday morning, is to create a 'cluster' on you project. Check it out here - it's a fun one by Shannon Tidwell!

A Year of You for March

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to share that my March class is up at Twopeasinabucket.com for the 'A Year of You' free, year long class.

Go here to see some additional photos and also download the PDF with step-by-step instructions and more photos. And I hate that photo of me - gag! Can I just scratch it out! YUCK!!!! And, I accidentely did a photo from 2007 instead of 2008. It was crazy - I had to do this right after we moved here so I wasn't thinking straight! LOL! There is a pocket there on the right hand side and all the photos on the cards are from 2008. I'll be changing that main photo - thank goodness! :)

Looks gorgeous! I love the apothecary drawers but I REALLY want to know about the chalkboard/bulletin board/white board with letter pockets. Do you know where you got it? It is EXACTLY what I am looking for!LOL!

Thanks Noreen - yes, that whole system is from Pottery Barn. You can see the whole collection by going here. I'm really enjoying it! In the letter pockets - I am keeping my old Scrapworks mats that I use for pocking holes in my papers from brads and such and then in the other - are my 2 stamp cleaners from Stampin' Up! I love having them so close and within easy reach. In my old place - I tried to keep them in the same spot but I was always loosing them. You have no idea how many times I had to search and search for those things! LOL!

And Laura - I'm not sure what color of yellow it is. It is beautiful though - so soft and it makes me happy just to walk in there. I will find out though and let you know.

I'm working on a bunch of assignments right now - it has been a busy month! But I'm inspired and loving it all! I seriously love this stuff! Hehehehe!

I am alive! LOL!

Geez....time is going by way to quickly! Sorry to be missing lately. Thanks for all your comments about the last post - sorry it was such a little peek into my room. I am excited though...my dearest friend, Amy, took 2 days off of work last week and came and helped me get my room done. Seriously...how am I so blessed to have such an amazing friend? She is the BEST! I just love her and I love that we get to hang out now that I am closer! We had the best few days!! Ever! It was so much fun - although we were racing and working like mad! SO, I will have more photos to share of the rest of my room very soon. It is all organized and everything is in a place that makes sense...it makes me soooo happy! HUGE thank you to AMY!! You are the greatest - seriously! Thank you so much! I couldn't of ever got it all done without you! And thanks to my Mom who took the kids for a day so we could work, work, work! :)

We've been busy - working on the house still and I had a bunch of assignments to get done as well. Saturday was our 12 year anniversary too! 12 years! Wow! We went out Friday night together and then Saturday - we went on a tour of the Draper LDS temple with my Mom and Dad and my bro and his family. It was a private tour and was very special to be able to take our kids through the temple. They loved it! I will never forget it! And, what better place could we have been than in the temple, where we got married 12 years ago (although it wasn't the same temple....the feeling was the same) with our kids with us...it was wonderful!

I need to take some more photos of my room to share, but in the meantime, I thought I'd share these 2 layouts that were up at Hero Arts blog the past 2 weeks or so.

Due to our move and me not being able to create for awhile, I wasn't able to contribute to the Garden at Two Peas for awhile....which made me soooo sad cause this month's theme is Sewing/stitching! Hello! Like one of my most favorite things to do!!! Be sure to check out all the fabulous layouts from the mid-month garden here. Love to see all those amazing girls work. I do have one in there, but it's not my fav...I was sparse on supplies! LOL! Next months theme is awesome too and I just finished up some assignments for it - so watch for them on the 1st of April. Also, my class at Two Peas will be up on the 20th this week.

I've been feeling kinda crummy the last few days and so has Jaxon so that's not fun. I'm excited though cause my sister and her family are coming up from St. George for the week - we have missed them so it will be nice to see them and to hang out! So - off to dinner at my parents. Have a good night!

A Peek into my new Studio

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to get back on here - things have been so crazy around here! Madisyn's first week at school was a little rocky...but things are better now and she is enjoying it and doing great. Jaxon got very sick and cranky and needy of mommy last week - found out he had a horrible ear infection and a super bad cold. Poor little buddy. The meds have finally kicked in and he's running around playing now. I had a bunch of assignments I had to get done - and those took so much time considering I don't have much unpacked in my room - I had to search and search for things and do the best I could.

But, things are finally settling down. I wanted to share the little corner of my new room. I'm trying to work more on unpacking supplies and stuff today so I'll share more picts of the rest of it as soon as I can.

Here is the right hand corner of my room:

All these pictures were taken at night - so I know they aren't great. I'm excited about the cork board - I plan to use it as an inspiration board for techniques - I can't wait to show you. Madi was excited about the chalk board and although I wanted it black and perfectly clean - I let her go to town and I love it! So sweet!

The walls are painted a light yellow and there is white bead board all the way around the room.

About 2 years ago, I took all of the little things out of my apothecary drawers (it was purchased from Pottery Barn Bed & Bath catalog probably 3 or so years ago - unfortunately it's no longer available) and filled each drawer with all my chipboard letters from A-Z, numbers and !&$, etc. It worked perfectly! But, I never have taken down the old tags and put up new ones. So, the other night, I sat down and spent time working on it.

I punched all the tags with a Quickutz tag die in Baja Breeze cardstock from Stampin' Up! My whole room is geared around that color now - I just HEART it big time!

I then used these school days rubons (no longer available) from Stampin' Up! and used the alphabet letters on each tag. I then tied them onto the drawers with light yellow string that matches the paint color of the room.

It took a long time to do, but I love how it looks! Now I can find the letters that I need without having to sing the alphabet song every time to find the right drawer! LOL!

I also hung up my Pottery Barn shelves that have the cups in them. I love these things...I keep all my writing pens, tools, glues, tape and more in these cups right by my desk. It is so handy and keeps everything organized for me. After I had put everything the cups, I didn't like the cluttered look of seeing everything through the glass cups. So, I cut pieces of Baja Breeze Stampin' Up! cardstock and put it in each cup and taped it in place. I love the splash of color it adds and how it makes it look more clean. Easy peasy!

Every space has it's own challenges and I'm trying to work through them - trying to make this space work better for me and be more functional. A die-cutting area, a sewing area, etc. And my stamps need to find a good home so I can grab and use them easily - I love my stamps! So, lots to still go through. My new word and motto is:

SIMPLIFY!!

I have so much stuff and I love so much stuff - but I need to simplify and narrow it down to what I really need and will use. A tough task.
