Happy Halloween!!

How is Halloween already here? This month has been crazy and I feel bad that we haven't been able to do more fun Halloween related events with the kids. Such a bummer! Last night we carved pumpkins and this morning we went to Madisyn's Halloween Parade at School...here is a picture of her right before we left. She is a 'Vampire Cheerleader' - the blood on her face. She didn't want that! :) She's always been a princess for Halloween so I thought it was fun that she wanted to do something a little bit more 'Halloweenish' - great for Scrapbook pages! LOL!

I need to get some fun picts of Hudson today and I'll share him - he is Dash from the Incredibles. It was our plan - to be the Incredible Family. Jaxon as 'Jack-Jack' and Madi as Violet - but she threw a fit and wouldn't do it. So, Hudson still wanted to play along and he's had a blast running around everywhere super fast like Dash. He's such a cutie!

Jaxon - well - time flew by and I didn't get a costume for him. He was going to be 'Jack-Jack' and then I thought of a 'Jack-o-Lantern' - but we'll see what he is. I got him a Halloween Shirt and then my neighbor brought over a cute dog costume. :)

And, wanna hear some BIG news....

We are MOVING! Yep - that's why things have been sooooo crazy this month. We put our home up for sale and we are making some offers on homes today...in Salt Lake City. Yep - we are moving up north again. My hubby has a great job opportunity and I think it will be great - transitions are hard and I am really sad to be leaving our neighbors, friends and ward here at Church. I also feel bad for the kids - they have such great friends here - it makes me sad for them. But, it will be a new adventure for our family. Hopefully we can get the house I really want! :) :)

So - lots to do in the upcoming weeks and months - full of change. Crazy!!!

What a trip!

We got home late last night from being up in Salt Lake, since Wednesday night. I feel like we've been gone more than we've been home this month! It's been so crazy! My neice, Haylie, got baptized on Saturday and our nephew, Mackay, was blessed at his church on Sunday. So it was nice to be there and support them this weekend. My Mom threw a huge Halloween party for our family on Friday night and it was so much fun! My Mom knows how to throw a party - dang - the kids had the best time and it was fun for them to be able to celebrate Halloween with all their cousins.

Unfortunately, we also all got sick while we were up there. It amazed us all how it spread so quickly from person to person, family to family. So yucky! Ryan, Hudson and Jaxon all had it on Thursday and then I got it bad Saturday and Sunday - just in time for all the family events. I spend most the time laying down feeling so yucky - not fun! I'm hoping that I'm coming out of it today - yuck!

So, we are home! Yeah! :) Madi is back at school and Hudson is going soon - we so need to get things back to normal around here!

I did want to share a few things...

First, here is a page I did for Collage Press. I LOVE their products and was so happy to be asked to join their design team last month. Here is my first project for them. You can check out their blog here for all the other girls awesome stuff.

Second, I shared some photos of my scrapbook room last week on the Two Peas Garden Girl Blog. You can check out some more 'messy' photos of my room here. I still have lots of cleaning and things to do - but isn't that how it always is! :) Sorry that they aren't the best photos - I took them and then ran out the door to leave to SLC so I didn't get to fix them up much - but - you get the idea! :)

Third, this week starts 'Stamp Camp' at Two Peas in a Bucket. Check out the education board for the first class. Me, Kristina Werner and Jennifer McGuire will be doing a 6 week long camp with a new class each Monday - it's going to be so fun! So check it out and join along! :)

Some Halloween fun

The mid-month Garden went up at Two Peas yesterday with lots of fun Halloween inspiration! You can check out the new Garden here (scroll down and it goes to the next page too).

Here is my layout for Halloween:

For the border on the right hand side - I cut a bunch of strips of cardstock, patterned paper (Bo Bunny Coffee Dot paper that I LOVE) and some old book paper to make a long piece of small strips. All the circles are embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I also stamped the cobwebs in the top left corner with a fun Hero Arts stamp and embossed it with clear powder. I loved Halloween last year! We did tons of fun activities all month long and the kids just loved and were so into everything. We've had a busy month thus far but I'm hoping to do some fun things this weekend with it being UEA weekend and not having any school the rest of the week. We'll see what we can fit in.

I got three of these awesome Making Memories Paperie albums - I'm adding this color into my scrapbook room and can't wait to have these in there. They look so beautiful! Anything with a pretty Damask - I'm pretty much sold! :) Plus, with the free shipping and the 20% off album sale right now - I think I got a pretty good deal on them!

Catching my Breath

Hi! :) I'm back from a wonderful weekend away with my Mom and sisters. We quilted, watched some movies, went and ate great food, shopped, enjoyed lots of surprises and gifts and laughed all weekend long! It was a wonderful wonderful trip! I can't wait to do it again next year!!

Here is a photo of my quilt pieces laid out on the floor. I did this pattern with these fabrics - a jelly roll from the older line, Wee Play, and a jelly roll of the new line, Recess, all from Sandy Kopp for Moda (American Jane lines).

The quilt is six blocks of 6 strips of fabric that you had already pieced together. Here, I was laying them out to get the combinations right and then sew each strip together. I nearly got the whole top done - I was sooo happy! I just need to sew the remaining 4 blocks to the larger piece and it's done - very easy and something I can quickly do at home. Then, I need to do the border and get the backing ready to go and be quilting together for me. So excited! It is colorful and busy - but I think it turned out really fun! Love all the splashes of color! I'll share more when I get these last few pieces sewn on so you can see the whole top together.

This was the first time that I've worked with Jelly Rolls and it was really fun! I wanted to do something that I could really get done on the trip and this was a great way to go! I still have all my fabrics and pattern ready to go for my 'Heather Bailey' fabric quilt that hopefully I'll be able to start here at home when I get this one done. I can't wait! It will be so awesome! :) :)

Here is a photo of our little sewing table set-up - I'm there right on the corner - you can see my quilt being sewn together - line by line. My other sisters machine was right across me. It was so fun!

I came home Sunday night so tired - my hubby said, "Aren't you suppose to come home rested from these things?" I just laughed. We stayed up way to late each night - but how often do we get to do that? Yesterday, I felt like I was a walking zombie - so tired and yet so much to do! Today, I gotta get going! Lots of assignments due and I feel like I've been gone for 2 weeks straight - a little crazy!

One day

 
I feel like I'm home for one day and then off again tomorrow! We had a wonderful trip up to Salt Lake to see my family, enjoy General Conference, have a fun Stampin' Up! party at Jen Gallachers and take lots of photos! We went to Star Mill on Monday and got lots of fun photos of the kids. I've only had time to thumb through them and I love them! I quickly wanted to post one of my favs of Hudson - so many more to share soon! So fun!

I am off again - tomorrow starts our annual Girls Retreat with my dear Mom and sisters! (My sweet sister-in-law, Mo, can't make it and I'll miss her!) It is going to be so great though - a wonderful break! Pedicures, manicures, good food, good company, surprises, gifts, talking, movies, reading, relaxing, and most of all....quilting! I don't get to do much quilting at home admist my scrapbooking work - so I love Girls Retreat to go and quilt for days! Yum! I've got two quilts all ready to start! :)

I'll have lots of fun photos and projects to share on Monday when I return. All the projects from the SU event in SLC - I'll share those too! Right now - I gotta get to bed to get up and go! :) So fun! Just wanted to check in - hope your still hanging here with me! Watch for a giveaway next week! Off to play! Hugs!

My 1st Garden! :)

The 1st of the month garden is up at Two Peas today...talk about lots of inspiring goodies over there! The theme for this month is paper piecing! So so fun! I desperately wanted to get another layout or two done but this month has just been nuts! I'm hoping to get the other layout 'in my head' down on paper and I'll share it here this month! I also had the layout of the day up yesterday. It was using the amazing Jenni Bowlin chipboard shapes - label and butterfly. This layout was a little different for me in that I used a whole sheet of patterned paper on the background...but that paper by Sassafras is amazing!!
