I am back from the Creative Escape in Arizona. What a trip! Me and my friend, Amy went together and driving there and back was a total joke. I think we will never forget it - we got lost, had car issues, gas issues, got a ticket....it took us sooo much longer than it should of. But, oh well! We were happy to get there and to get home at that point.
I had a great weekend! It's funny going to these things because there are people there from all over....on all different scrapbooking levels and all coming to learn different things. Amy and I enjoyed going to the classes but we found ourselves kinda doing our own thing. The teachers were fabulous.....the projects were great. But, we just wanted to play, play, play. I seriously have the 'creativity bug' and just wanted to create. You should of seen all that I packed up and brought to do while we were there. We had plans to stay up late and scrap - we did some things but not much! I'm so silly! Heidi's class was really fun with the altered clock - I've almost got mine done and will post a picture of that too.
I have to say how much Allison Tyler-Jones photography class inspired me! That girl is incredible! Seriously....incredible! I left there so inspired to be a better photographer, to look at things differently, to be a better mom, to be inspired in different areas of my life. It was just so fabulous! I still can't stop thinking about her class. On Friday night, you had a secret class and I actually got a class with her. It was great! Talked all about lighting, a studio and more. Totally loved her! :)
Another person who totally inspired me.....Stacy Julian! Wow! She spoke at the closing dinner Saturday night and I was just in awe of her. I've heard her before at CKU - but for some reason - that night she just hit me. Her words...the songs....they way she spoke - she was so inspiring. If you EVER get the chance to hear her speak, take it! You will never be the same. The whole way home (the whole 9 hr. drive) that's all we talked about. Her talk touched every aspect of our lives....I am inspired in so many ways. Thank you Stacy! :)
It was so fun to see Margie and to get to chat with her. Loved seeing Donna and talking with her and Wendy Smedley (soooo nice to meet you!!!) Loved getting to meet Erin Trimble (writer for Autumn Leaves books) - she was just the cutest thing. Missed meeting you Ann!!!! Hopefully next time!!! So great to meet Jenn Bertsch, Lori Scroggins.....you girls are so fun! :) Met lots of fun other people!
We had a great time! Cute little things on our beds at night from Heidi and crew - it was cute! We had some great talks - it was so neat to re-connect with my friend, Amy Yingling. We met when I had just started scrapbooking - and yet we still keep in touch although we haven't seen eachother for such a long time. Oh, before I left, I was checking out blogs and saw that one of her layouts was up at the Scrapbooks, etc. blog. (Scroll down to Sept. 5th post - Heart your Heart - that's her page!!) So cool! Love that layout girl!! And I love you too! :) :) :)
So, I'm back to life! Monday was a crazy, crazy day! Had tons of emails to reply to, things to do, layouts to mail and so much more! It was insane! :) Plus, my thoughts were with all of those that lost their lives, those that lost a loved one or a friend, those heros of 9/11. We watched a show on 9/11 Sunday night and last night - it just broke our hearts. I didn't want to post yesterday - just wasn't sure what to say on such a sober day. My thoughts are with all those families!
I'm downloading all my pictures - I'll post more asap. I got some really neat things shopping - can't wait to share!! I've already got things up in my room - so so cute! Totally wishin' I lived in AZ! LOL! It was great to come home though - after all those inspiring talks I just wanted to hug my hubby and kids. They truly are all that matters! :) Hope you all have a great day! I'll get to those questions this week too! Thanks!
It was fun meeting you-
Love the cool stamps-

Yay! Sounds like so much fun - a perfect time - and I love living vicariously. Once upon a time, ages ago, I was lucky enough to take a class from Stacy at a little old LSS. Loved every word she said. She certainly has a way. I hope you realize how lucky you are - what am I saying, I know you do!

Sounds like you had a great time Robyn. If it hadn't been so soon after school started, my friend & I would have liked to have gone. Maybe next year!
