It's been a busy week for me. I've thought about coming and posting and then I think, What would I say? LOL Not much fun stuff to say this week!

I've been busy working on assignments for MM, magazines and for my guest designer spot over at A Million Memories. I'm running behind on that stuff, but hope to get it all done this weekend.

We ended up going to Vegas and had a great time! Ryan passed his Real Estate Exam so now he'll be able to sell houses too - so that will be cool. I was so proud of him! (: I went to Scrappin Time (thanks for those that made such great recommendations!!!) and then looked through some magazines while I waited for Ryan for a tiny bit. Then, we headed to Summerlin and went to Pottery Barn (of course! Hehehehehe) and then I had to hit Barnes and Noble! I miss having a good book store close by! I had a list of books I wanted to look at - Altered Art Books, some graphic design books and photography ones. Gotta narrow it down to the ones I want to buy at Amazon. Anyway, we then headed over to the strip and walked through the Wynn hotel - so pretty! They have this incredible water wall - oh my gosh - I about died! So beautiful! We saw this famous actor too - right behind us looking through his cell phone - I gotta figure out what his name is! LOL!

We went across the street to Maggianos - I remember seeing on some blogs after CHA that some people went there. It was good. I got a pesto dish and I usually don't get pesto - don't know what I was thinking. It was covered in pesto - good but couldn't eat much. As we were leaving the strip and stuck at a light, there was a man on the side of the street with a sign that said, 'food.' Ryan got out of the car, opened the trunk and handed him my dinner. No leftovers I said! LOL! I was happy he did that. A warm, good meal for that man! Good times with my hubby - good to get a break from the kiddos. Thanks to my sister and to my in-laws for helping to watch the kids - they love them and had such a good time!

Back to the books: If you have any good altered art, photo books please share!!! I'm still on the search and would love some recomendations.

So, have you bought tickets for the Fundraiser yet? Be sure to check it out if you haven't had a chance yet. It is such a great cause and I hope if you can donate, even if it's a dollar, that you'll try to. I can't wait to do a layout for someone - that will be so much fun! (:

No big plans for the weekend - do you? I need to work on stuff...so we'll see how it all goes.

A few different things...

What a busy weekend! Wow! We had a great party for Hudson on Saturday - lots of fun! He could care less about his cake - kinda funny. That kid won't eat a thing lately. Anyone have any suggestions? Milk...that's all the kid wants. I'm trying to get him to eat other stuff - but not happening. Don't get it.

Anyway....we had a good weekend, it just was busy. Yesterday was busy too...getting assignments done and phone calls and all that other stuff.

I finally got a new 3 Product Challenge done. I actually finished it early Monday morning but my internet was weird all day yesterday and I was busy so I wasn't able to post - sorry! So, here is the new challenge for Week #8. This is NOTTT my best work - I just had to get it done so it's super simple in design and elements - but, it's done. I took this photo of Hudson on Sunday on his 2nd bday and quickly printed it off and wrote down my thoughts about him turning 2. Just wanted to capture all that.

The Challenge for Week #8 is:
1. Dye, Ink or Paint your paper (direct to paper here - inking edges, painting paper, dyeing, etc. - have fun with this! get messy!).
2. Use a monogram
3. Hand-stitch on your page (or machine or digital - whatever is a 'challenge' or different for you)

Have tons of fun with this one! A bit more 'techniques' than 'products' this week, but I hope that you'll have fun creating and experimenting this week! Here is a link to the post in the Pub at Two Peas - be sure to link us to your layout when you complete it! I can't wait to see them!

For my layout - I dyed Making Memories Ledger Paper in various colors, added 'h' monogram and stitching on photo and around the border of the page. Not a lot going on here - really quite simple.

I've got to finish up figuring out my receipts for our taxes - Hubby's been asking me to do it forever and I need to get it done so we can finish those up. I also got some assignments I need to finish today, clean the kitchen and our room and I'm sure I'll think of more! LOL!

I'm thinking of going with my hubby to Vegas tomorrow - we'll see if we can get it worked out. I'd love to go do some shopping and I'm totally dying to get to a B&Noble to look at some books I've been wanting to get. That's one thing I hate about living in a small town - nothing like that around. It kills me! LOL! Ryan and I didn't really get to do anything for our anniversary so I thought it would be fun to go eat somewhere good too - how fun! Gotta think of somewhere - any suggestions by anyone??

And...

Did you check out that fundraiser on Karen Russell's blog? Thank you everyone that has already donated and that is planning on donating! It looks like there has already been over $2000 in donations - wow! Scrapbookers rock! Seriously! I can't wait to create a page for someone! Such a neat fundraiser!!

Poopin' a Penny

American Idol - Not surprised to see Ace go! I was sooo shocked that Chris was in the bottom 3! What about Kellie! Wowsers!

And Alias - Good stuff! Love that show! I'm so sad that it's not going to be on anymore! I love Jen Garner and the cast - so bummed about that! And Vaughn...hello hottie! (: I knew he was alive! Knew it! So so glad - now just get him and Jen back together already (on the show that is!).

I finished up a layout last night for BHG and I just got all sentimental about my little dude Hudson. I can't believe he's going to be 2 Sunday. He's so stinkin' cute! I seriously can't get enough of the kid (except for when he's whiney and crying - oh...and when I'm searching poo for a day to find a penny...that was a killer good time! LOL). I love to kiss the little guy - he's soooooo soft still and I'm so glad that he still loves to cuddle with his mama. I don't know what I'd do if he wasn't still my little cuddle-bug!

I got him a cool tricycle/thing that has all these cool buttons and lights and sounds - he loves that stuff. He always wants to push around Madi's Barbie bike so I know he'll love it. I also got a lawn mower toy for him - he always wants Ryan to hold him when he mows the lawn - he loves it. So, I thought this would be fun for him.

It's weird realizing he'll be 2! When Madi turned 2 - I was 4 of 5 months pregnant with Hudson. It's just weird thinking about the 'next' one. And if there will be a next one. I don't want one now - that's for sure. If we decide to have another, it will probably be around when Hudson is 4. I don't know. I just want him to be my little baby forever. Getting a little sad - but he is so fun too. Learning to say words and stuff - fun stage.

Geez - I didn't plan on going off on that tangent! Oh well!

Well, I'm off to clean up my scrap table a bit - it's a mess! Then, I need to get ready, return some stuff to Target, and then start on some assignments for Making Memories. I reallyyyy want to try to find a babysitter for tonight - we have two girls that always fight over babysitting our kids - it's so funny. So, hopefully one of them can. I need a to get out and do something!

Howdy!

I don't know where I've been - busy I guess! I've been working on some assignments and regular mommy stuff lately. Thanks everyone for your comments and emails - your pens will be there soon! (:

Easter was a lot of fun! We went to Sacrament meeting at church and then left and went up to Opa and Grandma's for a brunch. She had sugar cookies (which they loved), these cute little boxes with candy and treats and more. They had a great time! Then, I hid the eggs and a little gift for each and it was so fun watching them find everything! ((This photo is of them waiting by the door to go - Hudson just had to run off of course.) I got a ton of great pictures - so fun!

My little Hudson is getting so big - it's just blowing me away. Everyone asks me if he is three - he is sooooo tall and looks so much older than he really is! He'll be 2 this next Sunday, on the 23rd! Talk about craziness! We are gonna have a little party for him on Saturday - that will be fun!

So, guess what came yesterday, our new mattress! Wow! What a difference! First of all, LOVIN' the king size bed. I kinda freaked out when I leaned over to Ryan last night - I felt like he was a mile away. I'm not saying that's why I loved it LOL!! It's just big and soooo comfy! So so happy! I slept so good last night! And little Hudson came into bed with us this morning and there was lots of room - so nice!

I did order the headboard - I think it will look really nice! They have a beautiful bedskirt that matches the headboard so I got that too - I think that will make it look more complete! I just can't wait for it to get here now!

SOOOOOOOO....

BIG TV TONIGHT! ALIAS IS BACK!!!! I have loved this show from day one and I'm so excited that it's back tonight! This season has been pretty slow - how could they take Michael Vaughn out - but it looks like he's back tonight! I'm just so excited! I'm sure it will pick up since it is the last season - lots to still learn and reveal! So watch it! (:

And.....American Idol!!! Can I just share how much I love Katherine McFee...or how ever you spell her name! She is incredible! I remember seeing her during her tryout and I loved her - I think she deserves it - all the way! I was way impressed with Chris Daughtry too - something about his voice just gets me! I'm betting it will be Kellie, Elliott and Ace in the bottom three. It will be interesting!

Ok, so we desperatly need a new mattress! LOL! I've had the same mattress since I was in High School and when we were both sick in bed last month, we decided we couldn't wait any longer! Hehehehe! So, hubby just bought our new mattress. The catch....we currently have a queen size bed and we bought a king size mattress. I figure that if we were gonna buy as nice of a mattress that we did - we might as well upgrade (hello, my hubby is 6'2"!!). So......the search has been on for about a month and I keep coming back to this same bed. I want your opinion though. It's just a headboard, but I love the look of it. I've always wanted to put a leather bench at the end of the bed so this will be perfect. Do you like it? Do you think it will be timeless or tendy? Would you buy it? Would you be sick of it in 5 years? Just wanting some opinions! Here are two photos of it in the material I'd get it in. Thank you!!!!

Off to Target - need toilet paper! (((Like you wanted to know that! LOL!)))

So, good news, my Mom decided to come down for the weekend to visit! Yippeee! My dad has a trip, which I'm bummed he's gone over Easter Weekend, but we all do what we gotta do right! My Mom comes in tomorrow and I'm excited! Talk about house stuff, quilts, about the kids...Madi is soooo excited to see her! She seriously loves her 'Grami' so so so much and misses her so much! It's hard to be far away from them (although it is only 4 hours it's amazing how hard it is to get up there lately). It will be a great weekend!

I've also got some assignments for a magazine to wrap up - love what I have to do so I'm excited to get those done. Anyhoo....thanks to everyone for your comments on my layout about Madi below. You are all so nice and it always means so much when you take the time to post! Hugs to you all!

Every Day Life *Autism Awareness*

I started this layout last weekend and just got the journaling done so I wanted to share it here with everyone. With April Autism Awareness Month, I want to create some  layouts that focus on those special things about Madi that make her....her. Unique and so precious to us all! Every day life here is hard sometimes and other days it's totally normal. Madi is has High-Functioning Autism and was borderline Aspergers Syndrome. I really want to get her re-evalutated now to get some more answers.

Each day, Madi has certain things that she has to have a particular way, things she does, things she eats, and so much more. These things have changed over time and I just had to get them down on paper before I forgot them. I know that this layout, in the future, will be one of the most important one's I've ever created...for the content alone. I'm so grateful that I got this down. I love this hobby! So blessed to have it be a part of my life and my families life!

Anyway, thanks for looking. I used Scenic Route paper for the background (polka dots), Bazzill scalloped paper (spray painted to make it softer), Making Memories Ribbon, and Rhonna Farrer transparency layer (the strip of flowers) and Rubons (rubbed onto white paper, cut out and added glitter to them all). Heidi Swapp chipboard and rubons for the title.

The journaling strips vary in color from white to cream - all her little things.
