What a week!

On Monday, I was working on my computer when it froze up and I shut it down - only to find that it wouldn't start up again. Yep, my hard drive crashed and so did I! It has been at the computer place all week...I finally got it back yesterday with a new hard drive on it. So, it's basically a clean slate. I've been trying to install all my programs again and it's just been a nightmare. The computer guru is still working on my old hard drive to see if he can retrieve anything from it...I've been praying non-stop that he can. All our photos, files...my life is on that hard drive...and of course it's not backed up anywhere. So, it's been a rough week! Please pray that he can get it all off - I will cry for days if I've lost all my photos! For days!!!

So, that's why I've been gone! Sorry! I'm still getting things uploaded - need to get some photo editing software on here so I can post some photos - including the giveaway photo. So, sometime this week! It's just a long process getting this all back together - such a mess! Back up your files! I never thought it would happen to me - so frustrating!

SO sorry to read that your HD crashed! Mine did the same back in August, and I lost about a year's worth of pics. No backup either.. I was devastated. I hope you can recover them somehow!

Oh I am so sorry! The same thing just happened to me. I just sent off my drive to a recovery service and they *might* be able to recover some things, but it will be about $1400. :( Worth it to me, though. I hope you get your stuff recovered.

Oh I am so sorry that this has happened to you...but to give you some hope...it happened to me to...and our I.T guy (also a good friend of my hubby) he was able to retrieve EVERYTHING except emails from my laptop...I could have kissed him! :) So don't give up hope yet!

I hope they recover you computer!!! I did get an outside hard drive to put my pictures on and it stopped working! I haven't found out if it is recoverable...10 years of pictures...i know how you feel!!!

oooooh, soooo sorry about your harddrive. I lost all my photos earlier this year (except for my baby photos which I had burned to disks) so I feel your pain. What a nightmare!

robyn, i totally feel you on the hard drive. this has happened to me and I was able to get some but not all things recovered. hopefully the computer dude will work his magic. and i would also invest in an external hard drive. you can get one for a pretty reasonable price and totally worth the investment.

omg robyn ... so sorry about your hard drive. i'll cross my fingers and toes that your computer dude can retreive your photos. i'm diligent about backing up my photos ... but nothing else. i can't imagine having to start over.
